Day 10: Little Miss Peppercorn

Little Miss Peppercorn (a.k.a. my liver) and I had a little holiday today. Although we're always together it hardly gets a break to detox itself, sit in the sun, be pampered and have a nice glass of fresh juice!

The liver is always working to refine and detox everything we eat, breathe and absorb through our skin. It is the body's internal filtration system and chemical plant. It converts nutrients from the food we eat into energy to be used by the bones, muscles and immune system in your body.

As we juice, all our organs are actually on a little bit of a holiday, they are still doing what they normally do, but because digestion slows down (freeing up lots of energy!), and our consumption of food is the cleanest it can be, they get a chance to use the energy to rebuild and rejuvenate themselves as well as other parts of the body.

As part of any detox Juice Feast it is important to detox other organs as well, it is important to do Colonics (Colon Hydrotherapy) or Enemas, to aid in the flushing of toxins from the colon (large intestine), liver, and gallbladder. Colonic Hydrotherapy or irrigation is a gentle internal bath using warm, purified water that can help to eliminate waste matter, and toxic substances from the colon. As the colon heals and toxicity leaves the colon, other organs of elimination such as the liver, lungs, lymph, kidneys and skin begin to improve their functioning as well. The body needs a clean and healthy colon to assimilate nutrients and dispose of waste. The health of the body truly begins in the colon.

It is possible to flush liver stones when performing a colonic... it's time to let go of those Peppercorns!!!!

To find out more about Colonics check out Naturotherapies of York, there you will find all the answers that you seek and more!. For the month of February they will be having a special. It will only be $65 (including HST) per session. Contact Kim at 905-836-4372.

Miss or Mr. Peppercorn will thank you for it.

p.s.  10 days have gone by in a flash... and just when I started to feel good about the fast, confident on my decision and on my decision of sharing it with all of you!, thinking it would be easy to finish... WHAM!!! did I mention before that the emotion of anger is linked to the liver? that when you detox things get stirred up and we get challenged.... just when I thought I had it all under control.... well there you go, that's life, I can only control my reaction to what happens and even then, it's important to let go of the emotions that get stored in our bodies... its important to feel them, but then its just as important to acknowledge and to let go of them. Every organ is paired with an emotion, and when a specific area of the body is being challenged it is important to take a look deep within into the emotional realm of things.

Challenging would be the world of the night. I am committed to doing the 40 days, but tonight I feel challenged, angry and overwhelmed.

As my husband says, the days come and go. I know the feelings I have now will go to.

Missing the blissing.
